Today is ShineDaddy’s 5th anniversary. Going from startup to big business calls for celebration. It also calls for a lot of thinking because our greatest accomplishments still lie ahead of us.
It is particularly gratifying to be celebrating this anniversary as the future for the internet business looks so bright.
The journey started with few guys. We knew only two things: we wanted to be a company and we wanted to be our own boss. There had been innovation in web related business in a long time. We did our research and grew passionate. We figured a little company could have a big impact on the web because everyone want to get online. We didn’t realize it then, but before we knew it, we’ve already started our own business and we’re now our own bosses laying foundations for global internet business.
We were one of the contract staff of Procter and Gamble Nigeria Limited. We started out with few people that I could never imagine. We “quit” (at the insistence of the Procter and Gamble Nigeria Limited) to our own tinny office space at Joyce “B”.
In 2010 we move to Ghana and we register, incorporate and got a office space for Shine Daddy Operating Company Limited in 2012.
When I think about growth, I don’t think in terms of office space, employees or revenue. Instead, I remember back to our first tinny office space at “Joyce B” Road and our first product, SoccerFansClub. It’s amazing to me that we are now beyond where we are in our entire first year in business.
Many thanks to Shine Daddy Team, our customers and everyone that’s been so supportive from the start. I am so proud to be part of this team, and I am so proud to see what is in store for us in the years ahead.
To your success,
Oluwashina Abayomi, Chief Executive Officer/Founder
